RMS to Implement New Tardy Procedure

RMS will implement a new process this semester to help maximize instructional time in the classroom.  Starting on April 7th, students who are still in the hallway after every class period bell rings will be brought to a central location by RMS staff members to quickly document their tardy.  Upon completion of documentation, each student will be taken to their class.  We will be diligent in ensuring students are treated fairly and unique circumstances are taken into account.

This tardy documentation process allows classroom teachers to continue teaching instead of stopping to discuss with a student their reason for being late and documenting the tardy during instructional time.  Disruptions such as these take valuable instructional time away from both students and teachers.  Time is one of the few free educational resources we have available to us and we want to make every effort to protect this free resource.

If you have any questions feel free to contact a middle school administrator.
